Royal Park (Veg and Non-Veg)

If you are looking for a grand Kerala Meal (executive), Royal park is the place. Almost all food items (Veg and Non-Veg) are delicious and they are able to maintain that good will for more than a decade.

Halais (Non-Veg)

Q. Who serves the best Chicken Biriyani in Alleppey?

Answer. Halais Restaurant

Halais serves both Indian as well as Arabic food. Maybe this the only place in Alleppey that sell Beef Pickle. Halais serves both Indian as well as Arabic food. Maybe this the only place in Alleppey that sell Beef Pickle.

Indian Coffee House (Veg and Non Veg)

Have you heard of Bombay Toast?

If not, visit the Indian Coffee House at Alleppey and order one. Bombay Toast is a Sweet-savory variant of French Toast. They have more items like Scrambled Egg (Not Egg Burji), Tomato Sandwich and more.

They also serve Biriyani at quite economic affordable prices.

Another main attraction of Indian Coffee House is it’s ambiance. Personally I visit this place with my friends and spend long hours having Coffee and Lemon Tea.

Thaff (Non Veg)

When it is about Biriyani (both Chicken and Beef), Thaff is at par with Halais. The main difference is that rates are on lower side.

Thaff has two outlets, one at Alleppey Boat jetty and other one at Medical College Junction. Both of the outlets maintain the same quality and taste but are meant for different category of people. If you have enough and is looking to have a quiet peaceful food time in an Air Conditioned room visit the outlet at Medical College Junction. And if you are in a hurry run to the outlet at Alleppey Boat Jetty.

Brothers Restaurant (Non Veg)

Maintained by the legendary Balan chettan, Brothers Restaurant is the fav. place of many celebrities as well as the natives of Alleppey. Appam and Duck roast is the signature dish of Brother’s restaurant.

When it comes to Kerala Fish Curry Meals (Executive), Brothers Restaurant, compete with Royal Park for the first place. When it comes to Kerala Fish Curry Meals (Executive), Brothers Restaurant, compete with Royal Park for the first place.

Best option to have Tandoori items with Porotta, Ruma Roti, Chappatti etc.

Cafe Catamaran

If you like to enjoy the sea breeze while sipping a Tea/Coffee, Cafe Catamaran has it. The availability of continental food makes this place the fav. hangout place for Tourists who visit Alleppey.

USP of Majilis Restaurant is the variety of Seafood they offer. We can select the fish of our choice and the same will cooked as per our requirement.

Majilis also have many Arabic food items like Manthi, Kabsa, Madeeni etc.

Aryas Restaurant (Pure Veg)

Aryas is one of the few Pure veg restaurants at Alleppey.

My personal Favorites

Following are my the restaurants/tea stalls which I visit at least once in a week.

Balaji Tea Stall (Pure Veg)

Famous for its Masala Dosa and Rasa Vada, Balaji Tea Stall is the first one in my personal favorites. Whenever I travel to new place, I try to have a Masala Dosa (MD) and a Biriyani from that place. With an experience of having MDs from at least 100 different places, I can tell you that the Masala Dosa at Balaji Tea Stall was the tastiest among all of them.

Balaji Tea Stall is open from 4 to 7 in the evening and they don’t serve anything except Dosa and Vada items.

Puttum Kattanum

Puttum Kattanum Like the name indicates Puttum Kattanum is the signature dish of this place. A perfect hangout place for foodies which offer different varieties of non veg dishes and Teas at pretty affordable price.

Salikkante Chayakada

They have many non-veg items of Chicken, Mutton and Beef. They have many non-veg items of Chicken, Mutton and Beef. But Beef Curry is different from other shops.

Raja (Non Veg)

Beef Curry with nostalgic taste of Firewood Cooking makes this unique. Situated on the banks of Punnamada kayal, Raja’s Tea shop is one of my personal fav.

AmmachiKkada

Serving food is more than a business at this place. Women from the neighborhood cook and serve under the guidance of a Sweet Granny who is affectionately called Ammachi by everyone. This is probably the only place in Kerala where a Fish Curry Meal is served with a Fish Fry at 30 Rupees.
